Desperate Housewives runs for eight years and now it went to the ending and in the Desperate Housewives season 7 finale, with the Susan’s sappy ending, Lynette’s marriage crisis and Gaby’s ‘daddy issues, they are many mysteries in the season 8 finale.

One thing the show’s swan song probably won’t feature is the death of one of the core housewives. “We feel very protective of our four main women,” says Daily of the characters played by Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria. “Which is not to say that one of our [other] main, top 10 characters won’t bite it. We have talked about that.”

The Desperate Housewives season 7 finale left two dead (the first of which was Felicia's karmic death) in its wake, the breakup of Tom (Doug Savant) and Lynette's (Felicity Huffman) marriage, and found the women united in keeping Carlos' (Ricardo Chavira) accidental killing of Gaby's (Eva Longoria) stepfather (dead person No. 2) secret.

First, Desperate Housewives dvd 1-7 knows how to make a good finale. This one was full of overlapping plots, the brave portrayal of one of its most solid relationships breaking down, and the conclusion of Paul's journey dating back to Season 1.

It gave Vanessa Williams a comic plot that really worked all her strengths (including some bad singing that with Williams' talent probably wasn't as horrific as originally scripted).

“That’s what the separation was about, to go out, see other people, see if after 20 years if they’d still choose one another,” Doug Savant,  who plays Tom, tells us. “So, you don’t know unless you test the waters.”

And so season seven comes to a close and I for one am relieved. After starting off in a very weird place I thought it ended on a high note. It was good to see Paul Young somewhat redeemed in the end. He seems to have made peace with his creepiness and genuinely wanted to make it right again.

It's a good time to pick up the Desperate Housewives DVD if you haven't watched the show about four women's huge mysterious!
