Flashpoint is a Canadian police drama television series that debuted on July 11, 2008, on CTV in Canada and CBS in the United States. The Flashpoint Seasons 1-3 DVD focuses on a fictional elite tactical unit, called the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), within a Canadian metropolitan police force. The SRU are tasked to resolve extreme situations that regular officers are not trained to handle including hostage-taking, bomb threats and heavily armed criminals.

  Flashpoint focuses on the emotional and mental aspects of high level police work as well as illustrating the tense and demanding environments the officers are placed in. Great show!

  At first, I thought Flashpoint was going to be just another cop show only focused on special unit's operations, but the show has fresh insight into every day operations of Toronto police SRU's. Flashpoint does not stop at portraying the team in a compassionate and realistic light.

  I need to say that the Flashpoint is a very excellent crime Canadian show so far. And it is exciting, compelling, emotional, funny, and the acting is excellent.
